Resort Spaw Groomers are proficient in AKC breed standard haircuts, but we mostly enjoy grooming pets to fit their owner’s lifestyles. That means we will groom dogs however you as the owners want- whether it is to the breed standard, puppy cuts or something creative. We not only love dogs, but we also like to talk to people and we strive to always have open communication with our clients. This means we listen to what you want and help by giving you tips on how to keep your dog(s) in good shape at home.
Grooming dogs is not just about appearance, it is also about maintaining health.
When we groom a dog, we look over every inch of skin for any lumps, bumps and/or irritations that you as the dog may not notice. Other health factors of grooming are:
- keeping the nails at a healthy length to prevent hip and back problems,
- preventative dental maintenance with tooth brushing,
- regular ear cleaning to keep an eye on them, and
- taking control of tangled hair and getting rid of loose undercoat to make sure skin is breathing and pores are healthy.
Regular grooming is a key component to maintaining a healthy and happy dog.
The most important thing for the Resort Spaw is making sure the dogs are happy and comfortable.
We are extremely passionate about animals and we insist they are treated with loving kindness. Dogs typically don’t like being groomed and are nervous; therefore the most important tools we use are patience, compassion, understanding and loving kindness. Dogs can and do get less anxious over time and we are willing to build the kind of relationship with pets needed for animals to be able to trust and feel more comfortable. Most dogs visit a groomer more often than they even see their own veterinarians and it is important for the animal to build a relationship with this person. We want people to keep coming back to us for grooming and form a lifetime relationship with the employees in our facility. We do this for the dogs’ sake and we are passionate about upholding these principles.
From shampoos, hair cuts and flea treatments to skin care and shed management treatments, your pampered pet will go home looking great as well as feeling great! All of our grooming services are available by appointment. Spaw services can also be scheduled while your dog is here for daycare, boarding or training, based on availability.

Basic Services

"Luxury Bath Package"
Includes a bath with a basic shampoo, blow dry, brushing, ear cleaning and nail trimming.
"Premium Haircut Package"
Includes the Luxury Bath and a haircut to fit your dog’s needs and your lifestyle.
"Puppy Practice Groom"
For puppies five months and under. The main goal of this groom is to teach puppies what grooming is like and make them feel comfortable. We will focus on positive reinforcement and make the groom an overall good experience. Includes bath, blow dry, nail trim, ear cleaning, brushing of the coat, trimming only next to eyes, sanitary, paws and of course comes with a desensitizing practice session. $25 ($20 for shorthaired dogs)

The Winter Spaw Package
Available with any bath or full haircut package, this comes with a soothing oatmeal shampoo, deep coat conditioner, sled dog paw re-moisturizer, teeth brushing, and a doggie scarf! Keep your dog comfy and cozy this winter with this great package! $17 added to grooming package.
Feather Extensions
Available in a variety of colors. $5
Tooth Brushing
We brush your dog’s teeth with an enzymatic chicken flavored toothpaste and doggie toothbrush. $5 if added to a grooming package. $10 a-la-carte.
Nail Grinding
We use an electric nail grinder to smooth off sharp surfaces of nails and round them out to give them nice shape. $5 if added to a bath, haircut, or nail trim. $15.00 to get nails both trimmed and filed without a bath or haircut service.
Hydrated Dog
Your dog gets tea tree oatmeal shampoo and we let it soak for a few minutes versus just rinsing it out right away. We then use our Kiwi conditioner and let it soak on your dog’s coat for a few minutes. This is followed by our spray-on leave-in conditioner. $8 if added to bath package. $12 a-la-carte.
Conditioner
Regular shampoo followed by conditioner. Conditioner is not included in regular packages. $5
FURminator
The FURminator brand shampoo and conditioner. Each soak for 5-10 minutes. This is followed by a full blow out with extra brushing. $15 - $30 depending on size and coat type. (Example: Newfoundland is $30 - Beagle is $15) Call for a quote specific to your dog.
Massage
20 minute massage specifically around back of neck and legs to relieve sore muscles and help de-stress. This also comes with the hydrated dog package. $15.00 with bath or haircut package. If a-la-carte, it does not come with the hydrated dog package but we will enter your dog’s suite during nap time and provide the service to give your dog extra attention.
Paw Pad Pedi
Soak feet for 15 minutes with special foot bubble bath (during bath). We use a special conditioning cream and massage it into the pads, as well as trim and file nails. If desired, polish is available. $15 with any bath or haircut package. $20 a-la-carte (does not include the foot soak)
Blueberry Facial
Specialized face wash is applied and let to soak for 5 minutes. It is then scrubbed with a soft cloth and rinsed off. $5 with bath or haircut package. Not available a-la-carte.
